Commandments of Jesus Christ to His Disciples, With or Without a Ministry #13 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for 'GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.' 2 Tim 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also […]
1 Peter 5:5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for 'GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.'
2 Tim 2:2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
Acts 20:28 Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
1 Peter 5:2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly;
Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Rom 16:17-18 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. Rom 16:18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.
Phil 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
1 Tim 3:1-7 This is a faithful saying: if a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 1 Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 1 Tim 3:3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 1 Tim 3:4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 1 Tim 3:5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 1 Tim 3:6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 1 Tim 3:7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
1 Tim 3:8-13 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 1 Tim 3:9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 1 Tim 3:10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 1 Tim 3:11 Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 1 Tim 3:12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 1 Tim 3:13 For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
1 Tim 5:17-20 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. 1 Tim 5:18 For the Scripture says, 'You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,' and, 'The laborer is worthy of his wages.' 1 Tim 5:19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. 1 Tim 5:20 Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.
Titus 2:2-10 That the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; Titus 2:3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things – Titus 2:4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, Titus 2:5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Titus 2:6 Likewise exhort the young men to be sober-minded, Titus 2:7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, Titus 2:8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. Titus 2:9 Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, Titus 2:10 not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
1 Thess 5:12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 1 Thess 5:13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves. 1 Thess 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
Titus 3:9-11 But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. Titus 3:10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, Titus 3:11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.
Rom 12:6-8 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; Rom 12:7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; Rom 12:8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
2 John 1:9-11 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 2 John 1:11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
2 Tim 2:22-26 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Tim 2:23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 2 Tim 2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 2 Tim 2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 2 Tim 2:26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
1 Tim 6:10-11 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Tim 6:11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
