The True Gospel vs. Apostasy — False Gospel, Christian Apostasy #11. Many people ask me, 'Pastor, how do I know if my church is true or if it's in apostasy?' In this teaching, in the simplest and most transparent way possible, I will share with you the true gospel versus the false gospel. The truth will set you free.

Many people ask me, 'Pastor, how do I know if my church is true or if it's in apostasy?' In this teaching, in the simplest and most transparent way possible, I will share with you the true gospel versus the false gospel. The truth will set you free.

Key Points of This Teaching

  • There is only one true gospel, one narrow path
  • The Lord came to make disciples, not religions or denominations
  • Denominationalism Is Apostasy — They Must Repent and Be Born Again
  • True disciples do the work that Jesus Christ did
  • Not everyone who has power and authority is a true disciple
  • Some have false fire — when they encounter true disciples, their false fire is exposed.
  • Called to be a disciple
  • There is only one true gospel, one narrow path

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Ephesians 4:5-6 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

2. The Lord came to make disciples, not religions or denominations

Matthew 10 Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.

Luke 10:17-20 The seventy returned with joy, saying, 'Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.' 18 And He said to them, 'I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.'

Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; 20 teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

Mark 16:15-20 And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.'

  • Denominationalism Is Apostasy — They Must Repent and Be Born Again

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

John 8:31-36 Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed Him, 'If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.' 8:33 They answered Him, 'We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, "You will be made free"?' 8:34 Jesus answered them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 8:35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 8:36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.'

John 3:5-6 Jesus answered, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.'

  • True disciples do the work that Jesus Christ did
  • Not everyone who has power and authority is a true disciple
  • Some have false fire — when they encounter true

disciples, their false fire is exposed.

  • Called to be a disciple
