In the Word of God we stand firm, because the Word of God guides us — the Word of God is what keeps us on that narrow path where there is light. If we become wise in our own understanding and want to act on what we ourselves understand, without a basis in the Word of God, we fall into the trap and step off that narrow path that is light, onto the wide path that many enter and that is destruction. In Psalm 119:5, the word says, your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path — the Word of God is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path.

Only if we are walking according to the Word of God are we in the light. We continue our teaching series Spiritual Warfare: Training Your Hand for Battle, and we continue with part eight, the spiritual weapons we have available. Today we will be focusing on the Word of God — the Word of God is a powerful and very effective weapon we must use in spiritual warfare.

When the Lord was tempted by the devil, after having fasted for forty days, the Lord answered him three times with the Word of God, until the devil left, because the Word of God is living and effective. Some points we will be covering today: the Word of God, which is alive. Another, the Word of God is an offensive weapon; also, the Word of God is a defensive weapon, it is a shield.

The Word of God is the light that lights our path in this world that is in darkness. And lastly, the Word of God strengthens us. The Word of God is alive — it says, Hebrews 4:2, the Word of God says, for the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I want to share part of my testimony with you. Before the Lord anointed me, there was a moment when I was reading the Word of God, and I read this scripture, Hebrews 4:2. I received a revelation as I read it, and the Lord used that scripture to open my eyes, to change my path, to transform my life. Because as I read, I was able to understand that this is not just a saying — it's not simply that the Word of God says in this scripture that the Word is alive, it's that the Word is truly alive. When we believe it, when we have faith, it does exactly what it says — if we put it into practice in faith, it does exactly that. The Word of God is powerful, the Word of God is alive and effective, and it is sharper than a two-edged sword.

In the physical it might seem like nothing is happening, but when we use the Word of God in faith, the enemy is pierced through by those words, the enemy is wounded — the Word of God is powerful. In Isaiah 55:11 the word says, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. The word will not return void — there are many promises in the Word of God.

There are verses that I consider to be, so to speak, spiritual-warfare verses — when we declare them in faith, when we are confronting the enemy, they truly accomplish the purpose for which they were sent. But likewise, in every area of our lives, when we apply and use the Word in faith, being obedient to the Lord, the word does not return void; the Lord is faithful — the one who inspired that powerful book, the best-selling book in the entire world, the Bible — he is faithful and true, he is the Alpha and the Omega, and he is able to fulfill every one of his words. Isaiah 40 says, the grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of God stands forever. Everything will pass away, but the Word of God remains. In Matthew 24:35 it says, heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Everything will pass away, heaven and earth, but not his word. That word is alive, and that word remains forever.

The second point of today's teaching is that the Word of God is an offensive weapon — that is, it is our sword, it is a powerful weapon we have available to us to destroy the enemy who comes against us. In Ephesians 6:17 the Word of God tells us about the armor of God — verse 17 says, and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

What is the sword of the Spirit? It is the Word of God. When we have revelation of the word, when we have given our hearts to the Lord, when we have faith, when we use the word with understanding, it is a sword, a sword with which we wound and destroy the enemy. In Matthew 4:1-11, here it tells us about when the devil came to tempt the Lord after he had fasted.

I'm going to read that passage, and see how the Lord answers the devil. To defeat the devil on that occasion, the Lord simply used the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The word says in Matthew 4:1, then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, if You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. But He answered and said, it is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Satan is even using the word itself, but twisted, trying to tempt and trip up even the Lord himself.

In verse five it says, then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, if You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written, He shall give His angels charge over you, and in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. Notice that he used the word of God, but twisted, trying to tempt the Lord, trying to trip up even God himself. That is the same thing he will do with us, but if we answer him with the word of God, we wound him. Then Jesus said to him, it is written again, you shall not tempt the LORD your God. But the devil did not give up — he kept tempting. Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and said to Him, all these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me. Then Jesus said to him, away with you, Satan! For it is written, you shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve. Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Once again, the devil came to tempt the Lord, but how did the Lord overcome the devil, what did the Lord do? He answered him again and again with the Word of God. The Word of God is powerful — we must learn from the Lord, and when we are tempted, in this case the devil came directly to the Lord, in person, to tempt him, but the devil is cunning — he has another, more subtle strategy for tempting us in this time, and that is using the people close to us; he uses the father, he uses the mother, he uses the uncle, he uses the cousin, he uses the husband, he uses the wife, he uses the children — he uses whoever he can to try to trip us up. So we must learn from the Lord, we must fill ourselves with the Word of God, and we must understand that those who come to tempt us are not really them, but the devil, and we must answer with the Word of God, and that word is a sword. Those demons come and use people who are weak, who still walk according to the world, but those demons behind them, using them, are wounded when we answer with the Word of God.

It is important to learn from the Lord — when we are tempted, when someone wants to put a stumbling block in our way, we must be prepared with the Word of God in our hand, with the sword of the Spirit, and answer with it. The Word of God is not only an offensive weapon, it is also a defensive weapon, it is a shield, it protects us — when we believe it, when we understand it, it protects us. In John 8:31-32 the word says, then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, if you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The Word of God sets us free — even if we are already imprisoned, even if we are captives, the Word of God, when we understand it and know the truth, the truth sets us free. In Psalm 119:114 the word says, You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. You are my shield, my hiding place — here it says you are the one who hides me and you are my shield, you hide me from the enemy and protect me from the enemy. The Word of God is a shield that protects us when we understand it and use it. I'll give you an example a little further on of how the word protects us when Satan comes with his cunning wanting to curse us or intimidate us.

In 2 Thessalonians 3:3 the word says, but the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. When we believe the word, when we believe that He is who He is, because He is faithful — the Lord is faithful and His word is faithful — that He will establish us, meaning He will strengthen us, keep us in a stable position, and guard us from the evil one. When we understand words like this, the devil comes to tempt us, to try to make us believe he is going to destroy us, but if we believe that the Lord will establish us and guard us from the evil one, that is truly so — He is faithful, He keeps us.

That word gives us security — in the middle of the storm we can be firm and secure. Matthew 7:24-27, therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand; and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.

In the Word of God, here the Lord compares himself to someone who builds his house on the rock — meaning, in this battle, in this process, in this walk with our Creator, there will be storms, there will be tempests, because we have an adversary, the devil and those who fell with him. They are fighting against us, but if we are firm in the Word of God, the Word of God is our shield, it is a fortress. The devil is going to send storms, but even when the storm comes, if we are firm in that word, the storm will pass and we will still be standing. But if we are not firm in the Word of God, when the storm comes, the house falls, because it wasn't founded on the rock. The Word of God is a shield, the Word of God keeps us firm on that rock, who is the Lord Jesus Christ. If we believe his word, if we receive it in our hearts, we are secure, because our King, that rock — who can move it, who can tear down that rock, who can tear down our Lord Jesus Christ? He is the word, and he keeps us, when we keep his word.

Psalm 91:2-4, I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. What a precious psalm — the Word of God is a shield, under his wings we will be safe, his truth is a shield and buckler. The Word of God is truth — if we believe the truth, which is the Word of God, if we receive it in our hearts and cling to it, it is a shield. The devil is a liar and the father of lies, and lying is his favorite weapon to try to intimidate us, to try to pressure us, but if we stand firm, if we cling to it and believe with all our hearts that what the word says comes to pass, the Lord is faithful and His word will not return void. The Word of God — this is point number four — is the light that shows us the way, that lights our path in this world that is in darkness. We cannot fight against darkness if we are in darkness ourselves — then we are lost; if we walk in darkness, the enemy will overcome us, because he is the king of darkness, but the Word of God is light, the Word of God is that lamp that lights our path.

The word says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. The Word of God is that guide we need to have — if we base our actions, our conduct, our decisions, our life in general on the Word of God, we stand firm, because the Word of God guides us, the Word of God is what keeps us on that narrow path where there is light. If we become wise in our own understanding and want to act on what we ourselves understand, not based on the Word of God, we fall into the trap and step off that narrow path that is light, onto the wide path that many enter and that is destruction. In Psalm 119:5 the word says, your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path — it is a lamp for my feet and a light for our path, just as I shared with you, only if we are walking according to the Word of God are we in the light.

The devil manages to steal many souls, he manages to deceive many, because many people grow overconfident, thinking themselves wise in their own opinion — which by the way is one of the end-time demons that deceives many, making people believe they are very wise, that they are wise in their own understanding, and so they don't base their lives on the Word of God. They say, because I'm fine, I'm saved, I believe in God, I'm going to heaven, and so on. The devil deceives them. If we know the word and keep it, we are in the light — when we do that, the Word of God is a lamp for our feet, because we are no longer walking according to what we ourselves think is right, because it's not what we think is right that matters. The word says that man's righteousness is like a filthy rag before God, because what is good in man's eyes is often abominable before God. We cannot become wise in our own understanding — if we want to overcome in this war, if we truly want to have victory over the enemy, we must have that lamp that lights our path so that we don't fall into a pit, which is the lake of fire, because the Word of God is light and is the lamp with which we must light our path.

Luke 11:27-28, and it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You! But He said, more than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it! We are blessed when we hear the Word of God and keep it — that word is alive, that word gives us victory, that word strengthens us, that word allows us to pass through the storm, that word keeps us immovable in the face of the tempest, because faithful and true is the One who inspired it and sent his word. Psalm 119:130, the entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. Once again, the Word of God gives light — why? Because it is light. This world is darkness — in this world there are many things that, to the carnal eye, to my eyes and to yours, don't look negative at all. For example, the first woman in the garden, Eve — there was nothing that looked negative about eating a piece of fruit; it's just a fruit, who would think a fruit would harm them? And this was still in the Garden of Eden, when there was no sin on earth — who would think a little piece of fruit — I wouldn't think it, neither would you — but because God said, don't eat of this, for you will die, truly, if we eat it, we will die, even though it looks like an innocent fruit, even though it looks like a harmless fruit, desirable to the body, and even though the devil says, oh, nothing will happen, if you eat it you will become wise, and you will be like God, if you eat it you will not die — that is why we must not be guided by our carnal eyes, we must not be guided by our own intelligence.

The Word of God gives light — in this world, just like that fruit, there are many other things that seem harmless, that don't seem like death, but if we do them, we do them out of ignorance, because we are not keeping the Word of God, or because we don't know the Word of God, and they lead to destruction. We must fear God if we want to overcome the devil, who is very cunning and the father of lies, who the word itself says deceives the whole world. We must let the Word of God be our lamp, lighting our path. The Word of God strengthens us, the Word of God is strength, because all of us in this carnal world, we are in the flesh, we have limitations, and even the love we have for our family can suddenly become a vulnerability for us. The devil himself has threatened me many times that he is going to kill my loved ones — he has threatened me — and if that happens, if we are fighting the spiritual battle, which is the purpose of these teachings, the devil himself, Satan, comes and tells you, I'm going to kill you — he told me that himself, too, from the very first time he manifested — I'm going to kill you, and quite viciously, and he has threatened me that way that he's going to kill my loved ones, and he has threatened me with so many things over these years, that if we are not strengthened in the Word of God, and we listen to what he says, anyone would be intimidated, they would already fall into weakness, and if we fear the devil's fear tactics, we've already opened a door to him — but the Word of God strengthens us,

— the word says the angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. So if we trust in the Word of God, the devil, who is a liar and the father of lies, can say whatever he wants, but in our lives it isn't what the devil wants that happens — the Lord has the final word. We have to believe in the Word of God, we have to keep that living word in our minds, fresh in our minds — that's why we have to regularly read it, so it stays fresh here, so that when the devil, the tempter, comes to tempt and wants to intimidate us, we stand firm with the Word of God.

Psalm 56:4, in God I will praise His word; in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? James 4:7, therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. The devil comes wanting to intimidate — he creates situations that are unpleasant to the flesh, and in the moment, I'll even admit it, anyone can feel overwhelmed for a moment, wow! The devil wants to make a person believe there's no way out of this, that he's going to destroy everything, but that's not so — we stand firm in the faith, and the One we serve is faithful. The devil closes ten doors, and when we stand firm and believe in the Lord, the Lord opens twenty, just as He did with Job — He essentially gave him double what the devil had been blocking, what the devil had stolen from him. The Lord is faithful, we have to believe in Him — we who trust in Him will not be put to shame; through faith and through trust in His word, we have the victory.

Luke 10:19, and here, behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. The devil comes to make you believe he's going to destroy you, that you can't cast out demons — in some churches, out of fear, they say you can't rebuke the devil, that name is not to be mentioned, but the word tells me that we have received power and authority to trample on serpents and scorpions — the serpent is the devil himself, the scorpion is like one of the strongest powers too — and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall harm us. The devil makes you believe, I'm going to destroy you — I decide whether to believe what the devil says, or to believe God. I don't know about you, but I believe God, and the word tells me nothing will harm me, that I have power and authority in His name to trample — trampling means treading down, stomping on the devil, stomping on his armies, and all his power — we can trample all the power of the enemy, and the word promises that nothing will harm us. I believe the Lord, I believe His word, that word strengthens us, because if we believe it, we already become like giants, we already see demons as tiny insects. When we believe the word, demons are like insects that we trample underfoot, because how are they going to intimidate us? How can they intimidate us if our faith is firm on the rock, if we have put our faith in the Lord? Psalm 91:10-11, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. When we are firm in Him, when we keep His word, He commands His angels to guard our path. That's why the word strengthens us — the more we understand these words, these promises, the more we feel like giants, we feel like invincible warriors, because through Him we truly are invincible — if He is with us, who can be against us? Psalm 91:7-8, a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked,

The devil threatens, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to destroy everything of yours, but look at what a precious word — a thousand will fall at my left and ten thousand at my right, but it will not touch us. We would rather look with our own eyes at the reward of the wicked, of those who want to destroy us — we will watch how the Lord repays them, because He is faithful and His word is fulfilled. Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The devil wants to make a person feel weak — I remember at the beginning, when the Lord anointed me, I was praying and interceding, and there were people close to me who told me, you think you're going to save everyone now, who do you think you are? I answered with the word, certainly in my flesh I am weak, but through Christ I can do all things, because He is my strength. That's how we have to learn to answer, with that word — we have to trust in His word, we don't trust in our own strength, we don't trust in our own intelligence; we trust in the Word of God, and through that word we have victory.

And to conclude this teaching, let's read Revelation 12:11, and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. Through the Word of God and through trusting in His promise we have victory over the enemy — the Word of God is alive and effective. I hope this teaching has been for the edification of your lives.

Before concluding today's teaching, and before beginning the prayer, I want to give the opportunity to those of you who would like to support our work, our church — below each video there is a link with different options for you to give an offering to the Church. Your offering is important and necessary for the sustaining and advancement of the Church, so that we can continue doing the work we have been doing. I express my gratitude to those of you who support our work.

Now let's pray: I cover every person listening to the sound of my voice with the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ; let there be fire and light upon each one of you in the name of Jesus. We thank You, Lord, for Your word, which is living and effective and will not return void. We thank You, Lord, for all the wonderful promises You give us. We thank You, Lord, because in Your word You don't just give us a map — You show us the way, how we can obtain victory over the enemy. We give all the glory and honor to You, Lord. We also thank You, Lord, because You are training our hand for battle. There is power in Your name, there is power in Your word, and You have given us power and authority to tread on serpents, scorpions, and all the power of the enemy, and Your word, which we believe and receive in our hearts, says that nothing, for any reason, can harm us. Let there be terror and confusion on all the powers of the enemy that oppose our serving You, in the name of Jesus. I wound every horse and rider of those who oppose a revival, with the light, in the name of Jesus. Let every spiritual chain and shackle that tries to stop those who want to serve You be broken in the name of Jesus. Let there be terror and confusion on all of them in the name of Jesus. Let them all divide and attack one another in the name of Jesus Christ. Let the skin of every principality that opposes fall from them while they are standing, in the name of Jesus. I wound the entire army of the enemy with the light. Let there be a great earthquake over the territories of the powers that oppose a revival, in the name of Jesus Christ. Let fire come down and consume every power that opposes a revival, in the name of Jesus. Every demon that blocks the gifts, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. Thieves of anointing, come out in the name of Jesus Christ. Thieves of physical and spiritual strength, come out in the name of Jesus. Thieves of peace, come out in the name of Jesus. Thieves of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, out in the name of Jesus Christ. Demons that block the spiritual senses, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. Demons that cover the eyes, come out in the name of Jesus. Demons that cover the spiritual ears, out in the name of Jesus Christ. Demons that block spiritual sensitivity and discernment, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. Blockage of the gift of healing, come out in the name of Jesus Christ. Blockage of the Word of God, blockage of knowledge, out in the name of Jesus. Blockage of the gift of wisdom, out in the name of Jesus. Blockage of tongues, out in the name of Jesus Christ. Blockage of the interpretation of tongues, out in the name of Jesus. Blockage of the fire of God, of the anointing to set souls free, come out in the name of Jesus. Let there be terror and confusion over all the powers of darkness that were assigned to try to stop those with an upright heart from being filled with the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus. I wound all darkness that opposes God's purpose, with the light, in the name of Jesus Christ. Let the skin of every demon that is opposing fall from them while they are standing, in the name of Jesus. Let the tongue of each one dissolve in their mouth, in the name of Jesus. Let the eyes of each one dissolve down to the socket, in the name of Jesus Christ. I wound all darkness with the light, in the name of Jesus. Darkness and light met, and darkness did not prevail — darkness will not prevail against the light. Let the light shine over the entire territory of the enemy in the name of Jesus. Let all darkness disintegrate with the light in the name of Jesus. Let fire come down and consume the entire army of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ. I wound all darkness with the light in the name of Jesus. Let fire come down and consume all darkness in the name of Jesus Christ. There is power in the name of Jesus. I wound all darkness with the light in the name of Jesus. Let every army that opposes a revival be burned up by the fire of God in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus Christ. The gates of Hades will not prevail against the church of God. He who is with us is stronger than he who is in the world. They will gather against us, and whoever gathers against us shall perish because of us.
