Definition of the Word: Disciple of Jesus Christ:

A disciple is someone who believes, receives, is transformed, and lives according to the teaching and doctrine of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The disciple loves the Master. The true disciple is faithful to his Master, to His teachings, and keeps His commandments. The Disciple seeks each day to become more like the Master, until reaching the perfection of the perfect man, who is Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Lord Jesus Christ began His ministry by making disciples.

Matthew 1:23 BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE AND BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME EMMANUEL, which translated means: GOD WITH US.

He chose 12, but over the years of His ministry He made hundreds of disciples, and His final words after His resurrection, before ascending, were these — representing the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Amen.

Matthew 7:13-14. "Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. For small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Every religion represents a path, every denomination represents a path, but there is only one narrow path — the one Jesus Christ showed — and it is entered and received by remaining in His word and becoming His disciple.

John 8:31-55 Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him: If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free

John 15:9-10 As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in His love.

Luke 6:46 Why do you call me, "Lord, Lord," and not do what I say?

John 14:21,23 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And my Father will love the one who loves me, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. 23 If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and my Father and I will come and make our home with him.

John 13:15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.

John 15:8 My Father is glorified by this: that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

Matthew 15:14 Leave them; they are blind guides of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

1 John 2:6 Whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.

1 John 3:24 Whoever keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in him.

Luke 14:33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate […] his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

Matthew 16:25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

1 Thessalonians 1:6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

1 Corinthians 11:1 Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.

Matthew 10:24-25 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master.
